Welcome to Counselingmetrics.com

This website is for you!… The goal of this website is to make it easier for therapists, clinicians and students to find helpful client assessments.

A Need for Assessments all in One Place

The website was born from several needs:  1.) Firstly, I don’t know about you, but I have spent hours trying to find the assessment that would be the best fit for my client. I would read about a variety of assessments but when it came time to find the actual form, they could be very difficult to track down and safely download without infringing on any copyright laws. 2.) Secondly, when I began studying for NCMHCE licensure exam that allows you to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state where I live, I quickly realized that I was lacking in knowledge of assessments. To help with my studying, I began to assemble a spreadsheet of assessments, links to assessments, what the assessment is used for, etc. I found out I am not the only person who has done this. (You may have done this too!)  I thought it would be helpful if there was one website that already had all the information available and accessible in one location. After numerous searches, to my surprise, I could not find that website! (Maybe it exists, and I still have been unable to locate it but either way, I decided to launch my own.)

Improve the Game for Everyone

My sincere hope is that you find this website useful. I hope this website helps simplify your search for assessments so that therapists who are already stretched on time can focus more on client care. I hope that this website is helpful to those who are just starting out in the field to be able to quickly locate potential assessments that they can begin utilizing. I hope that this website helps seasoned professionals who may need a one-time assessment that they may not have previously needed. I hope that this website is helpful for students in their coursework on assessments to be able to examine factual, reliable information. Lastly, I hope that this website helps make a positive contribution to the field of therapy as a whole. Someone once said that the best way to win is to win in such a way that it improves the game for everyone. That is what I hope to do for any clinician, student or professional who uses assessments.

Lastly, if you have suggestions on assessments that you would like to see included or even suggestions on how to improve, please visit the “Contact” link/page and let me know.

Sincerely,

Lisa Wells, LMHC
